Try more than one house position. Shifting or rotating the footprint may preserve a priority oak while improving shade or creating a stronger outdoor room. It may also lengthen the driveway, complicate the garage approach, or move the home toward steeper ground. The builder also needs a plan for fencing, access, storage, excavation, and communication with each trade whose work approaches that area.
Conditions may change once clearing or excavation exposes something that could not be seen earlier. The team needs a clear way to stop, review the condition, and bring the right professional back into the decision. That is different from asking a machine operator or trade partner to make an arboricultural judgment during active work.
